Designer: Unknown
Maker: Unknown
Year: 1970s
Size: H 620 x D 660 x W 650 - Seat Height 370 (each chair)
Condition Report: Excellent Refurbished vintage condition. Fibreglass has been strengthened in structural areas. Professionally sanded, painted and sealed to automotive standards, offering a very durable finish.
.
A stunning set of fibreglass space age lounge chairs, brought back to life with a full refurbishment of structure and paint. The story goes that these came from the Auckland Airport in the 70s, a cool backstory, that we are unfortunately unable to confirm for sure.
Re-painted in a warm orange tone, each chair has a impressive visual mass, really grounding them in a space, while in reality being very lightweight and easy to move around.
Suitable for use both indoors and outdoors, the shaped seats make them surprisingly comfortable without the need for a cushion or padding.
Likely a part of a larger commercial setting when produced, we can picture rows of these tucked side by side, slotting effortlessly together thanks to the linear square footprint. They are priced individually, but we’d love to see them head off together as a pair.
NOTE: Price is per chair
