Emeco’s range of utilitarian aluminium chairs were initially designed for the US Navy. Built to be almost indestructible, they can handle harsh weather conditions and big knocks, all while remaining incredibly lightweight and ergonomic.
The ‘Icon’ chair is an evolution of the original design, maintaining many of the classic details like the shaped seat, yet showcasing a unique backrest that strips the chairs form back to the bare minimum. A single cross support leaves the backrest fully open, an intriguing look that gives the chair an incredible lightness of form.
Described by Starck as ‘The chair I see when I close my eyes’, it truly is uniquely simple and to the point.
