Designed in Switzerland by Geneva, the XL speaker is an all in one system with an impressive presence within a space. From the mid 2000s, it includes a few nostalgic features such as a flip up iPod dock and CD player, alongside a built in radio and multiple audio inputs. While this is a pre-bluetooth era speaker, it's a very simple process to make this wireless with the addition of a small adapter.
Created as an all-in-one Hi-Fi system, it delivers high quality audio at both low and high volumes. Blurring the lines between speaker and furniture, this version includes the pedestal base that elevates the main case off the ground and really adds to the intriguing design.
Using a red display behind the speaker mesh, simple mode functions are displayed only when the speaker is on, and completely hidden when off. Filled with unique details, one of the standouts for us is the satisfying way it plays CDs. Simply rest the disk in the slot and press the CD button to see the disc pulled inside the main body of the speaker. A small but cool feature we love.
