The Cuboluce lamp was deigned with function in mind. Initially intended as a bedside light, Studio OPI looked to solve the age old problem of finding the light-switch in the dark through the use of a hinged lid that automatically turns on the lamp when opened. The balanced hinge allows for the top to be angled in a number of positions, while the metallic reflector on the underside gently bounces light around the room.
Simple in form, the cube shape offers limited hints to the function when closed, allowing the lamp to slot seamlessly into a number of contemporary settings, only coming to life when opened.
