Condition Report: Good vintage condition. No cracking to the plastic. Chrome legs show pitting in places. Original coating has flaked off over time in areas. lightly on 3 chairs and more noticeably on one. Have been resealed to stop this happening further. The DAR chair, often named the Eiffel chair, is a polypropylene dining chair that solved a problem for the Eamses that plywood could previously not. A single continuous curved form that effortlessly shapes to the user. Initially manufactured in fiberglass, it was switched to polypropylene for environmental reasons, as seen in this version.

The Eamses had a unique way of naming each piece of furniture they designed. DAR simplifies the core components of the chair into a simple code. D (dining height) A (arm chair) R (rod base).
