The DSS chair is a moulded plastic dining or side chair that solved a problem for the Eameses that plywood could previously not. A single continuous curved form that effortlessly shapes to the user. Initially manufactured in fiberglass, it was more recently switched to polypropylene for environmental reasons as seen in these versions.

The Eamses had a unique way of naming each piece of furniture they designed. DSS simplifies the core components of the chair into a simple code. D (dining height) S (side chair) S (stacking base). The Stacking base, in our books, ranks as the most visually intriguing and most functional of the different leg designs.
