NZ$0.00
sold out

Designer: Frank Gehry

Maker: Knoll Studio - USA

Year: 1999

Size: D 620 x W 540 x H 800

Condition report: Great vintage condition. Very minor chip to surface coating on edge of seat. Only visible on close inspection.

.

Frank Gehry, best known for his architectural works such as the titanium-clad Guggenheim Museum and Walt Disney Concert Hall in LA, is a master of sculptural forms, rooted in warped geometry and dramatic curves. He often uses materials in a way that defy how we would expect or understand their limits to be.

This chair follows the same principles with its ergonomic curves and refined yet dramatic form. Constructed from cast aluminium, the chair is sold and weighty, which is unexpected at a first due to the soft curves and detailed lines more often seen in a plastic or wooden construction.

Produced in 1999 by Knoll Studio, the chair cuts no corners in the manufacturing process. Rubber spacers give the back rest a gentle rock to ensure a comfortable sitting experience. No small detail has been missed.
