Inspired by the folding directors chairs of the past, The NY chair balances both foldabilitly and comfort perfectly, offering an incredibly enjoyable seating experience. A chrome base is topped with wooden arms and a continuous upholstered seat and backrest. Simplicity at it’s finest, the combination of materials are both elegant and timeless.
Becoming a permanent fixture of the Museum of Modern Art in New York in the 1970s, it has been gracing homes, both indoors and outdoors ever since.
It was named to honour the designer’s family name, but also means ‘new’ in Danish – a homage to mid-century Scandinavian furniture that helps to inspire the design.
