'Gilda' Table Lamp by Silvia Capponi for Artemide
Designer: Silvia Capponi
Maker: Artemide - Italy
Year: 1993
Size: H 335 x D/W 110
Condition Report: Good vintage condition. Surfaces show some subtle wear with age. Professionally rewired for ease of use in NZ.
.
The Gilda lamp is a very unique and unusual lighting option. A plastic body houses the switch and bulb, sending light upwards to hit the reflective plastic ball.
Removable and rotatable, you can shift the angle of the ball to adjust the direction of light, switching between the clear half and the reflective half to really change up the glow.
Produced in 1993, it had some fairly outdated wiring and a specialty bulb (that is tricky to find), so we decided to strap out the internals and professionally rewire it with a more accessible bulb option.
