sold out

Designer: King Kong (design due of Stefano Giovannoni & Guido Venturini)

Maker: Alessi - Italy

Year: 1990s

Size: L 160 x D 40 x H 105

Condition Report: Good vintage condition. Appears to have been repainted silver by previous owner, slight paint marking in areas, with spots of black visible on some edges.

.

The avant-garde design duo of ‘King Kong’ is made up of two designers, Stefano Giovannoni & Guido Venturini. With a interest in popular culture and cartoons, the duo aimed to capture a childish playfulness within their designs. The ‘Girotondo’ range offers the familiar cut-out man as the central icon, stemming from the name itself which is taken from the Italian version of the common rhyme ‘ring-a-ring-a-roses’, a fitting motif to decorate the entire range.

This letter or napkin holder is perfect in the centre of a dining table, or tucked on a desk for organising all those loose bits of paper. Constructed in bent steel, the openness of the design feels right at home in a contemporary interior.

Vintage or new, let us know if you'd like us to track down another one.
