Designer: Charles Furey

Maker: Sebel - Australia

Year: 1970s

Size: D 470 X W490 X H740 - Seat Height 470

Condition Report: Great vintage condition. Some light scuffing to the bases inline with age. Vinyl upholstery in in very good shape for its age, a few very small spots wear, reach out for images.

.

Charles Furey pioneered the innovative approach to plastic polypropylene furniture both locally in Australia and New Zealand, but also on a global scale. He designed and produced the first one-piece polypropylene chair, the Integra, which many great makers and designers had been working towards in the years prior.

The ‘Hobnob’ chair continues this exploration of plastics, combining a moulded tub style seat with a swivelling metal ‘tulip’ base, upholstered in jet black vinyl. The result is a comfortable and functional chair, that makes a lasting impression in any contemporary interior.
