'Kettle with a Singing Bird' by Michael Graves for Alessi

NZ$250.00

Designer: Michael Graves

Maker: Alessi - Italy

Year: 1985 (more recent production)

Size: D/W 220 x H 225 - Capacity 2L

Condition Report: Great condition. Inside is very clean, seemingly very little use. Light scratching and wear inline with age.

Designed as the first piece of the ‘Graves Family’, this distinctive Post-Modern design sparked an interest in a more playful take on the classic kitchen tools of the past century.

More often seen in the original blue and red colour combination, this version instead uses more neutral black and grey tones, with all the same design detailing.

The small bird clicks into the spout and will whistle when water is boiling. The black details represent touch points when hot, to ensure no burnt fingers ahead of enjoying a nice cuppa.
