Designer: Massimo & Lella Vignelli

Maker: Heller - USA (NZ Made - Licensing currently in question)

Year: 1964

Size: H 105 x D 80 x W 120

Condition Report: Good vintage condition. Some marks, scratches and wear inline with age and use.

.

This stacking dinnerware was designed by Massimo & Lella Vignelli in 1964. An icon of sixties utilitarian chic, The range of plates, cups and bowls have remained, in our eyes, the most effective and beautiful example of plastic dinnerware produced to date.

The refined geometric design of the Heller range allows for pieces to be stacked for storage, although we think the function of these pieces in a contemporary setting can be much more decorative. Perfect for a morning coffee as intended or on a desk as an organiser for all those pens and pencils.

NOTE: We have recently heard from Heller in the US, stating they have no record of a licensing deal with an NZ maker. Stamped ‘Heller’ and ‘made under licence in Christchurch’, however this is apparently not the case.
