RARE PURPLE NESTING TABLES by GIOTTO STOPPINO for KARTELL
Designer: Giotto Stoppino
Maker: Kartell - Italy
Year: 1960s
Condition Report: Great vintage condition. Signs of wear inline with age, light surface wear and slight colour differences in places.
.
Price is for both tables as a set.
Kartell’s nesting tables were a first step in developing the idea of a single piece of injected moulded plastic being all that is needed to create beautiful and functional furniture design.
As a new material of the time, the ability to achieve a one step manufacturing process was invaluable to both cost and production time, and is an idea which has now become ingrained in the way we produce objects today.
Soft geometric curves create a lip around all edges of the piece, giving it strength and structure, while maintaining a sense of lightness in form.
