Vintage 'Infraphil' Lamp by Charlotte Perriand for Phillips
Designer: Charlotte Perriand
Maker: Phillips
Year: 1980s
Size: H 200 x D 210 x W 140
Condition Report: Great vintage condition. Very minor signs of wear. Bulb working well.
.
The heat lamp is not something that we see often today, but was a common item in houses during the mid century.
Perriand strived to create a sleek form that was also functional. The lamps minimal design encapsulates this with it’s bold conical shape. The rear of the lamp acts as a convenient handle for moving the lamp around, even when it’s in use and warm.
The ability to rotate the lamp is a great touch that allows the piece to be adjusted to suit the desired space.
NOTE: While this does come with it’s original infrared bulb (that does produce a fair amount of heat) they can be replaced with a more standard bulb to achieve normal lamp light, although this size can be difficult to track down.
