Vintage PH4 Pendant by Poul Henningsen for Louis Poulsen
Designer: Poul Henningsen
Maker: Louis Poulsen - Denmark
Year: 1966
Size: H 200 x D/W 500 (shade only)
Condition Report: Good condition. Paint shows a few spots of wear, worn through in one place on the lower shade, small spot. Presents very nicely, fully rewired. Reach out for detailed images.
.
An instantly recognisable form, the PH4 lamp is an evolution of the established PH three-shade system.
The result creates glare free light from the profile, and direct light, where it’s most needed, on the surface below. Achieved by the lampshade with several concentric shades, all working together to diffuse the light and prevent any harsh glare.
The PH in the name of this lamp stands for Poul Henningsen and the 4 represents the diameter of 40 cm. Designed in 1966, it’s been a timeless addition to contemporary spaces ever since.
An excellent colour, the muted purple tone sits right on the cusp of purple and blue, a modern colour that feels fresh and light.
Rewired for current use, it has a wall plug attached, but works best when professionally installed directly into the ceiling.
