NZ$345.00
sold out

Designer: Verner Panton

Maker: & Tradition - Denmark

Year: 1968 (2000s Edition)

Size: D/W 230 x H 160 (cable length - 3m)

Condition Report: Great vintage condition. Professionally rewired. Missing small chrome cap that sits on top of the shade, does not effect function.

.

1968 saw student revolts in Paris, Rome and the USA which resulted in the overthrowing of old values and a shift towards the Flower Power movement of the 70s. Verner Panton’s Flowerpot pendant became an icon of this era, with a focus on a more colourful and playful take on life.

The diameter of the upper sphere is twice as large as the lower one, creating a perfectly balanced form. The simplicity and elegance of the design has ensured its continued relevance and use over the past 50 years.

This version, produced under licence by contemporary manufacturers ‘& Tradition’, is a nod to these ideas and the weight they held at the time this piece was originally designed.

Note: Currently wired with a wall plug. Ceiling mount included, but will need to be professionally wired into the ceiling.
