Designed and produced locally in NZ, this beautiful bookshelf is constructed using a wasabi green European birch plywood. Finished on both faces with a premium hard-wearing laminate surface, produced by Egger in Germany. Separating each layer, threaded zinc-plated steel rods provide the vertical supports, with fastening nuts to keep everything locked in place.
Reminding the designer of bamboo, the name ‘shadows of bamboo’, is a phrase from an ancient Chinese poem, and perfectly encapsulates the verticality and openness of the design.
The second edition of the original Zhú Ying Shelf designed in 2022, these versions offer the addition of a sleek steel shelf and steel wire cross supports for added stability.
