Originally designed for travel, this vintage Metek desk lamp offers a unique balance of form and function. connected by a single metal rod hinged at each end, the base and shade of the lamp can be adjusted into a variety of positions. Extend the connections out for use on a desk, or bring the two halves together to provide a clam-like casing around the bulb.

We are always intrigued by pieces that offer a hidden function beyond their core usage, and this lamp is a great example of this.
