Designed for the architects Tugendhat House in Brno, Czech Republic, the chair reflects the groundbreaking simplicity of it’s original environment. A pioneer of Modernist design, the simplicity of form and clean lines paved the way for a new way to think about furniture design, striped of the usual embellishment and intricacy of the period.
This version, produced in the 1990s, offers the tubular frame and slim seat, more closely resembling the original 1930s edition compared with the more common flat-bar version.
A true icon of Modernist design, the chair feels as relevant today as when it was designed close to 100 years ago.
