.
Aptly named, the Heart Cone chair is a genuine furniture design icon. Taking inspiration from the wingback chairs of the past, Panton created a bold sculptural form that embodies the pop era he was designing and pioneering within.
Drawing down to a single point of contact with the base, the Heart Cone chair has an amazing lightness too it, which does not sacrifice the dynamic sculptural shape that has become so recognisable.
“When the chair was first brought to New York for display in a Fifth Avenue shop, it drew such a crowd that police ordered the chair be taken away.”
