YELLOW 'ROCHETTO' SIDE TABLE by ACHILLE CASTIGLIONI for KARTELL
Designer: Achille Castiglioni
Maker: Kartell - Italy (Unmarked)
Year: 1967
Size: D/W 420 x H 430
Condition Report: Good vintage condition. Minor scuffs inline with age. Small hairline crack to upper edge, see image below.
.
Designed in 1967, by brothers Achille and Pier Giacomo Castiglioni for Kartell. The ‘Rochetto’ stool was a huge success in ABS plastic design, seeing the use of 2 identical halves come together to create a bold and sculptural form that is balanced in both beauty and function.
This version, without the circular cushion, makes an ideal side table. Usually seen with a removable lid, instead this has a fixed surface attached to the inside edge of the stool. We are unsure whether this is a unique original surface, or if this has been modified by a previous owner.
NOTE: We are happy to arrange for a new cushion to be made for use as a stool or ottoman.
