Designer: Jamie McLellan - NZ
Maker: Resident - NZ
Year: 2011
Size: D 1460 x H 1870 x W 360 - Shade Diameter 290
Condition Report: Excellent condition. Limited signs of wear or use.
.
Designed in 2011, the Spar Floor Lamp was the first product produced by local makers Resident. Jamie McLellan takes inspiration for the design from the masts of classic sail boats, which is seen clearly through the use of cable tension to give structure to the lamp.
Constructed in Aluminium and steel, the skewed angles of the frame feel off balance at first glance, gaining strength when the cable is attached and tension is added, a unique and intriguing design approach that offers a great balance of line and colour within the piece.
The lamps shade can be rotated vertically to ensure the perfect angle of light in your space.
A great example of local NZ design that draws inspiration directly from the context surrounding us here in Auckland.
