Designer: Aino Aalto

Maker: Iittala - Finland

Year: 1930s (recent edition)

Size: D/W 160 x H 45

Condition Report: Perfect second hand condition. As new.

.

Aino Aalto’s staggered bowl has a simple, attractive design based on multifunctionality and stackability. Originally known as Bölgeblick, the pressed glassware collection was inspired by ripples in the water, similar to that of her husbands (Alvar Aalto) Savoy collection.

The collection has remained in Iittala’s production ever since it’s creation in the early 1930s. At the time it challenged old habits by its radically new and functional form, and has proven to be a true classic of modern Nordic design.
