The String Shelving System was first developed in 1949 for by Swedish architect Nisse Strinning along with his wife Kajsa for a competition hosted by Bonnier's public library. The aim was to further incorporate the use of bookshelves into the modern home, with focus on simple assembly, modularity and the ability to ship components easily. The String Shelving System was selected as the winner, and since has become one of the most widely recognised shelving systems available.
This unit, originally purchased in the UK, continues the initial ideas laid out by the designers. Modular in design, the different shelves and components can be arranged to best suits the needs of the user and the space it occupies. Beautifully constructed with white steel frames and ash wooden shelving, the design feels at home in a range on contemporary interior styles.
Note: We have a larger range of components available. Reach out if you would like to arrange a custom size or unique arrangement.
