sold out

Designer: Erik Magnussen

Maker: Torben Orskov - Denmark

Year: 1968

Size: H700 x W685 x D700

Condition Report: Great condition for age. Chrome is in excellent condition. Original black leather shows a beautiful patina.

.

Erik Magnussen is not a typical chair designer. Educated as a ceramist, his works are characterized by simplicity and functional elegance. Most well known known for his work with Stelton where he designed the EM77 vacuum jug, a piece that has remained an icon of danish design since its creation.

The Z-Down chair again centres around simplicity of form, offering a beautiful combination of chrome and leather the two materials come together seamlessly in an elegant and functional way. Hinged at the centre, the chair can be folded in half for easy storage (not that we recommend hiding it away).

The original leather seat and back has aged beautifully with time, showing a depth of patina that only comes with time. The stretched leather pieces offer a surprisingly comfortable seating experience, flexing gently with use.
